Attended medical school at the University of Cape Town and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 2012. Internship training at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH) from 2013 -2014. Served one year of Community Service in Tshepong-Klerksdorp Hospital complex in the department of surgery. Began Surgical Registrar specialization five-year training programme at University of Witwatersrand in 2016 rotating in the three main hospitals of Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH), Helen Joseph Hospital (HJH), and CHBAH. Began teaching as an instructor in the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course in Cape Town and Johannesburg from 2017 to date. Completed and passed the Oxford University Global Surgery Conference programme in 2021. Completed surgical training and qualified as a specialist surgeon as a Fellow in the College of Surgeons of South Africa: FCS(SA) in July 2021. Worked as a surgical consultant in Acute Care Surgery (ACS) February 2021 – March 2022 and simultaneously worked as an acting consultant in Trauma Surgery Feb 2021 – July 2022 at CHBAH. Completed Masters in Medicine (MMed Surg (Wits)) in July 2022. Began Trauma Surgery Fellowship August 2022 to date. Interested and passionate about health equity and equality, surgical and trauma research, clinical teaching of surgical trainees, and building leadership.
