Dr. Li is a Professor of Surgery, Chief of Hepatobiliary and Pancreas department at NSMC. A trained surgical oncologist, Dr. Li has extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery (MIS), specializes in complex and intricate laparoscopic hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeries, including liver cancer, hilar cholangiocarcinoma, gallbladder cancer, cholangiocarcinoma and pancreatic cancer. Dr. Li, who performs a high volume of such procedures, is also a pioneer and innovator of MIS in the field of hepatobiliary and pancreas in China. As the original proponent for MIS, Dr. Li is also reputed for his achievement in MIS training and education. Dr. Li participated in the formulation of several “expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery related diseases” in China, and published more than 220 academic papers (including 44 SCI papers).
