Calvin Johnson
I obtained my undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Dartmouth College in 1981. There I was captain of the basketball team and selected as a NCAA Division 1 Academic All-American. I obtained my medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in 1985. I completed a residency in Anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in 1989. I completed fellowships in Pediatric Anesthesia (Harvard Children’s Hospital) and Obstetric Anesthesia (Harvard Beth Israel Hospital). I am currently a full-time faculty member and Professor of Anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, California where I practice. I am a member of the Cedars Sinai Covid ICU and Airway Teams, Regional anesthesia, and pediatric anesthesia sections. I am board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Anesthesiology in Pediatric Anesthesia, and the American Board of Pain Medicine.
I have held Professorship appointments in Anesthesiology within the Departments of Anesthesiology at UCLA and USC Schools of Medicine. I was Professor and Chair of Anesthesia at Charles R. Drew School of Medicine, as well as Interim Dean of the Charles R. Drew School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California.
