Native Detroiter who had all of his training, including his Wayne State University (WSU) surgical residency, in Detroit. His surgical career has taken place exclusively at WSU and the Detroit Medical Center, including the Detroit Receiving Hospital. His research interests have dealt with shock, resuscitation, treatment of different types of organ injury, and basic surgical physiology.
