I am working as an associate professor at Chonnam National University Hospital.
I graduated from Korea University School of Medicine in Seoul, Korea in 2006, and after completing my training and receiving my degree, I have been working here as a professor since 2016. In 2015, I obtained my Ph.D. on the subject of “Detecting hepatitis B virus in surgical smoke emitted during laparoscopic surgery”. My teacher Prof. Seon-Hahn Kim, who is currently in Malaysia after retirement.
Recently, I conducted researches on the treatment of rectal prolapse through laparoscopy, and published 3 papers on male, female, and recurrent rectal prolapse, respectively. In addition, I serve as the secretary of the Pelvic Floor Disease Study Group under the Korean Society of Colorectal Surgery. I organize and conduct several multi-center studies. Personally, I am conducting a prospective study using various meshes in rectal prolapse surgery, and I am focused on low recurrence rate, standardization and simplification of the procedure.
