Gabriela García Vélez

Architect by Universidad de Cuenca, Ecuador (2008). Specialist on Cultural Heritage Management by Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina (2011). Doctor by KU Leuven Belgium (2018) with the thesis “The Activation Process of Cultural Heritage as a Driver of Development.” She works as an assistant professor and researcher within the research group named “City Preservation Management” (CPM) at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at Universidad de Cuenca. Currently, she is local coordinator of the research project “Re-Imagining Environments for Connection and Engagement: Testing Actions Social Prescribing in Natural Spaces” (RECETAS) funded by the European Commission (2021-2026).
