José Sebastião dos Santos

José Sebastião dos Santos, MD, PhD, is Full Professor of Surgery at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP), Brazil. He is Head of the Division of Digestive Surgery and Coordinator of the Digestive Endoscopy Center at the Hospital das Clínicas of FMRP-USP, and Director of the Bauru Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMBRU-USP). His academic and clinical activities focus on digestive and hepatobiliopancreatic surgery, therapeutic endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, and the integration of surgical and endoscopic approaches. His research has particularly addressed single-stage treatment of cholecystocholedocholithiasis,                 outpatient laparoendoscopy, healthcare organization, and strategies to improve access, safety, and value in surgical care.
