Dr. Ikpot is a distinguished anesthesiologist, pain physician and leader in perioperative care. A graduate of the University of Rochester, he completed his anesthesiology residency at The Ohio State University and Pain Management fellowship at SUNY Upstate. Recruited back to the University of Rochester, Dr. Ikpot has made significant contributions here.
Under his leadership, Strong West ASC received the prestigious URMC Board Excellence Award in 2024. Dr. Ikpot has successfully implemented process improvements, developed effective policies, and fostered a culture of patient-centered care, education, and quality improvement. His strategic initiatives have yielded notable achievements, including improved patient satisfaction, increased efficiency, and reduced waste. A respected expert in his field, Dr. Ikpot’s work has been featured in peer-reviewed publications and national presentations. He also serves on local and national committees, shaping the future of anesthesiology and perioperative care through his leadership and expertise.
Dr. Ikpot has been invited as a guest lecturer for the Departments of Ophthalmology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, sharing his knowledge and insight. Furthermore, Dr. Ikpot plays a key role in supporting the growth and development of URMC’s surgical team, assisting in the onboarding process for new surgeons and ensuring a seamless integration into our enterprise. Additionally, he helps support anesthesiology residents and CRNAs as they’re introduced to the ambulatory surgical centers.
