Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in Tokyo and Kanagawa, Japan

He is working at Nippon Medical School Hospital, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in Tokyo and Kanagawa. Axillary malodor/osmidrosis is a treatment target especially in East Asia including Japan due to the cultural background of body odor. We are conducting research on the pathophysiology of axillary odor such as causative genes and skin microbial flora, and objective evaluation methods for axillary odor. Currently, the most effective treatment for axillary osmidrosis is surgical therapy, but we aim to develop a non-invasive treatment.
