Paolo Moroni graduated with first class honors from the University of Florence – School of
Medicine and Surgery (Italy, 2013). He then completed with first class honors the residency in
General Surgery at the University of Padua (Italy, 2019), where he started his career from 2014
working at 1
st Surgical Clinic, Venetian Cancer Institute (2016), Rovigo Hospital (2017) and
Obesity Surgery (2018).
During his training, he gained some international experiences working at Odense University
Hospital (Danmark, 2012), participating in Mini Invasive Surgery training program and
Emergency Surgery at the IRCAD Institute (Strasburg, 2017) and at University Hospital of
Graz (Austria, 2017 and 2018).
Moreover, he attended a Clinical and Research Fellowship on Gastrointestinal Emergencies
and Robotic Surgery (WSES) at University Hospital Henri Mondor of Créteil (France, Paris,
2019).
From 2020 he is working as general surgeon at the San Luca Hospital in Lucca (Italy). His
main fields of interests are laparoscopic oncological surgery. His surgical case series counts
more than 400 surgeries performed as first operator both in urgency and in election with open
technique, laparoscopic and robotic assisted techinique (hernias, appendectomies,
cholecystectomies, sleeve gastrectomies, mastectomies, thyroidectomies and colectomies).
He is author and co-author of some scientific papers and he is a reviewer of “Mini-Invasive
Surgery” Journal from 2020
