Prof Asc Alma Cani MD University Hospital “Shefqet Ndroqi” ,Tirana , Albania
Alma Cani has been a Medical Doctor since 1991. She has worked as a Physician, Pulmonologist, Anesthesiologist. Alma also has served as Head of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the University Hospital “Shefqet Ndroqi”, Tirana ,Albania and as Associate Professor. Currently she is serving as Vice Technical Director in the University Hospital and Lecturer at Medical University of Tirana. Alma graduated the General High School in 1986 with gold medal, and graduated the University of Medicine in 1991 and appointed a doctor at the University Lung Hospital, Tirana. Alma Graduated specialization in pulmonology and received diploma for pulmonary medicine in 1993. After that in 1993-1997 she graduated specialization in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care and received diploma at the Faculty of Medicine for anaesthesiology and intensivist doctor. In 2003-2004 Alma received her Masters degree at the University Medical Center “Mother Teresa”, Faculty of Medicine in the field of pulmonology in Tirana. In 2009 she received the academic degree “Doctor of Medical Sciences” in the field of Anesthesiology and Intensive Pulmonary Care with the thesis “The Effectiveness of PEEP on Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. Alma has also done about 6 different specialization in Germany, Canada, Egypt and a number of trainings, a number of seminars, conferences and annual Congresses in different countries around the world, like Istanbul Turkey, Essen Germany, Ontario Canada, Berlin Germany, in Mansoura Egypt, in Vienna Austria, Barcelona, Spain etc. In 2013-2016 Alma has served as Member of Superior Medical Commission for Respiratory Tract Diseases. In 2016 she became Associate Professor. She has recently been recognized as doctor by Municipality of Tirana as Heroes of Tirana in April 2020 among the Doctors on the front line of the war against Covid19. Lastly Municipality of Bulqiza has give Alma the title “HONORARY CITIZEN” with the motivation: For outstanding activities in the field of medicine, especially in the direction of intensive care and resuscitation at the University Hospital “Shefqet Ndroqi” Covid2 and for valuable professional contribution in confronting with the pandemic situation caused by Covid -19.
