Birhanu Ayana Deffa

Dr. Birhanu Ayana Deffa is a consultant pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Addis Ababa University, department of orthopedic and trauma surgery and Associate professor of orthopedic surgery. He did his pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Christian medical college (CMC) Vellore, India. He also has advanced observerships scholarship at Sickkids Hospital, Toronto, Canada, POSNA/COUR scholarship, Atlanta, USA and Ponseti Clubfoot scholarship at Iowa University Hospital, Iowa, USA.

Dr. Deffa has significant contribution for the development of pediatric orthopedic healthcare in Ethiopia and expansion of Clubfoot program service across the country using ponseti method
