Nicole A. Martínez Martínez is a senior Cellular–Molecular Biology student at the University of
Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, with a minor in Medical and Health Humanities. She is
currently part of the Pediatric Critical Care Research Program at the UPR School of Medicine,
where she contributes to studies on spinal fusion outcomes, preeclampsia prevention, and Child
Life interventions. Nicole has completed over 160 hours of shadowing in the surgical field in
specialties like pediatric, neuro, orthopedic, vascular and general while she remains committed to
community service across multiple health-focused organizations. She aspires to a career in
medicine centered on compassionate care, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
