Dr. Karkera is an Assistant professor of Neuroscience and Anatomy and the Course director of Neuroscience and Pre Med Anatomy at Trinity school of medicine, St Vincent and Grenadines. She was awarded as PhD Medical Anatomy at Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore(India) on 2018 and served as Assistant Professor, Department of Anatomy from 2012 – 2019. She has mentored many graduate and post graduate students during her career.
Dr. K`s research interests include Anencephaly and its associated anomalies with maternal testing, a review of Down syndrome, and the variation and importance of lip prints in different age groups.
Dr. K has made over 30 scholarly contributions, nearly 25 peer-reviewed research papers. Current research in Dr. K`s account is on “A Study on Neuronal Tube Defects (NTD) in St Vincent and Grenadines: Incidence and Risk Factors’.
