Joseph Schulman

Dr. Schulman is a neonatologist and Public Health Medical Officer with the California Department of Health Care Services, especially focusing on clinical performance evaluation and certification of >125 neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). His peer-reviewed publications concentrate on NICU performance evaluation, quality improvement, clinical informatics, and infection prevention/antibiotic use. He has published three books: Evaluating the Processes of Neonatal Intensive Care; Managing Your Patients Data in the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units; each published by BMJ Books/Blackwell/John Wiley; and The Problem of Practice Variation in Newborn Medicine.
