Ioileva has made significant achievements in scientific research on current issues in neuro-ophthalmology and is the creator and developer of new technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of optic nerve and visual analyzer pathologies. She is a university professor and trains highly qualified scientific specialists, as well as physicians in the continuing education program. The author of over 300 scientific publications in Russian and international scientific journals, 83 Russian patents for inventions, 3 books, and 9 textbooks.
E.E. Ioileva is one of the most highly qualified specialists in neuroophthalmology. She has extensive experience treating patients with optic nerve pathology. As a practicing ophthalmologist, she performs a large volume of clinical work, consults with over 1,200 patients annually, and conducts over 500 highly effective treatment courses for patients with congenital and acquired diseases of the optic nerve and retina. Under her leadership, new technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of neuro-ophthalmological pathologies were developed and implemented into clinical practice at 10 branches of the Eye Microsurgery Center and other medical institutions across the country. As a leading specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with optic nerve diseases, she has repeatedly presented proposed new developments at meetings of the Committee on New Technologies of the Russian Ministry of Health.
Together with a group of engineers, she created a unique computerized expert system for diagnosing optic nerve diseases, which was awarded two gold medals, eight diplomas, and two certificates of honor at 14 international exhibitions. She participated in the competition for the 2015 Russian Federation Government Prize in Science and Technology as the head of the “Eye” project on diagnosing optic nerve diseases using neural networks.
She is the author of a classification of optic nerve atrophy. Based on modern high-tech methods, in particular optical coherence tomography and spectral optical coherence tomography with angiography, she has developed Diagnostic criteria and differential diagnostic algorithms that enable a high degree of reliable detection of congenital optic nerve pathology, optic neuritis and optic atrophy in multiple sclerosis, ischemic optic neuropathy at various stages, papilledema, and optic nerve changes in blunt eye trauma.
For 17 years, he has directed the country’s only certified advanced training courses for physicians on contemporary neuro-ophthalmology issues. He teaches in the Department of Eye Diseases at the Institute of Continuous Professional Education at the S.N. Fedorov National Medical Research Center for Scientific and Technical Complex “Eye Microsurgery” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. He is actively involved in the education and training of research staff (postgraduate students, assigned persons), and in the scientific and educational work of training clinical residents in the specialty of ophthalmology. He is an expert in the Unified Database of Assessment Tools, which is being developed for the accreditation of specialists. in healthcare, specializing in ophthalmology. Seven dissertations for the degree of candidate of medical sciences have been defended under her supervision.
She provides scientific supervision for research on topics related to the study of modern aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of neuro-ophthalmological pathology. She has made significant achievements in scientific research on current issues in neuro-ophthalmology, which are recognized by the ophthalmological community internationally.
The results of the Professor’s research and those of her students have been presented in scientific papers at international congresses, symposia, and scientific and practical conferences on ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, telemedicine, and artificial intelligence. She is the executive secretary of the organizing committees of the annual scientific conferences “Fedorovsky Readings” and the Congress of Ophthalmologists of the Russian Federation, and heads the scientific section on diseases of the optic nerve and retina.
She has been repeatedly recognized with gratitude and prizes for her achievements in scientific and inventive work. work. She has the state award “Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation”, which was presented by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation M.A. Murashko.
