Dr. Chunyan Qiao is currently working in Glaucoma and Lens Surgery services and the Vice Chief of Outpatient Department of Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University. Dr. Qiao graduated from China Medical Universery in 1996, got her M.D. and Ph.D. degree and completed her residency and fellow training in Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical Univeristy. She worked as Post D. of Prof. Leopold Schmetterer in AKH General Hospital, Vienna Medical University, Austria for 6 months in 2011. She worked as senior research fellow in Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, USA under the tutoring of Prof. Louis Pasquale and Prof. Janey Wiggs from June 2013 to May 2014.
Dr. Qiao focuses on glaucoma clinical trial and genetics research. Dr. Qiao has contributed to more than 40 international and national scientific publications and 16 books’ chapters in the field of Glaucoma and lens surgery. Dr. Qiao got two grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Dr. Qiao is sub-PI of “Chinese Glaucoma Study Consortium (CGSC)” that is the biggest multi-center glaucoma clinical trial and genetics study alliance in China. Dr. Qiao is the member of Beijing Medical Association Ophthalmology Association Glaucoma Specialized Committee; the member of Chinese Evidence-based Medicine Ophthalmology Specialized Committee; the member and secretary of Ophthalmological Society of the China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical and Health care. Dr. Qiao has keen interest in education and training. Dr. Qiao is regularly invited as a panelist and speaker at numerous national and international conferences and training courses.
