Doreen Ashioya

My name is Doreen Ashioya, a 27year old Kenyan female citizen. I am a graduate of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, having obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry and Vision Sciences in the year 2016. I joined a Master’s program in Optometry and Vision Sciences, with a bias in Low Vision and Rehabilitative Optometry and successfully completed in the year 2021. I currently work at Masinde Muliro University as a Clinical Instructor as well as the Quality assurance coordinator in the department of Optometry and Vision Sciences. I am involved not only in mentoring undergraduate students in clinical practice but also in teaching and research. I have a special interest in disability with a bias in Visual impairment in school going children and this has earned me a position as a member of the disability and mainstreaming committee of my institution.
