Associate Professor Jovita Ortiz Contreras, Midwife, Specialist in Perinatology, Master in Reproductive Health. She has served in clinical teaching, theory, research and as a Consultant for the Ministry of Health of Chile, for the Pan American Health Organization, and for the United Nations Population Fund. Her lines of research are oriented to Women’s Health with Gender approach, mainly maternal and perinatal health, immigrant women health, and respectful childbirth care. She is currently deputy director in the Department of Women´s and Newborn Health Promotion and academic in the School of Midwifery at the University of Chile.
